Forget consoles: Alienware Concept Nyx streams games to multiple screens at once

I think we're all sick of waiting for PS5 restocks, Xbox Serial 10 restocks and RTX 3080 restocks. Why can't nosotros merely have one single slice of hardware in our home that streams AAA games to any screen nosotros want?

That's the idea behind Alienware'southward Concept Nyx, and I got a gamble to see it in activeness alee of CES 2022.

Think of Concept Nyx equally a cloud gaming service similar Xbox Game Pass, Google Stadia or Nvidia GeForce Now. Except instead of streaming over the web using distant servers, all the processing would happen locally via a central server in your home and loftier-speed local networking. Alienware uses this scenario to describe the potential of Concept Nyx. Yous could exist playing CyberPunk 2077 in your chamber on a desktop or laptop and then switch the gameplay to your 65-inch TV in the living room when you get downstairs and selection up right where yous left off. All the while other gamers in your dwelling or playing Rocket League on their own laptop or tablet, and yet some other person is playing Minecraft on their telephone.

The Concept Nyx device looks like a blackness monolith that would sit somewhere in your house and connect with your Wi-Fi network, presumably Wi-Fi 6E for the best results. During our demo, I noticed a chip of glitching during one sequence, merely since this is a concept that's understandable. It would just be awesome to wait around the room and run into gameplay pass from one screen to the side by side with minimal fuss.

Alienware couldn't reveal the specs powering Concept Nyx or anything around possible timing, but it'south clear that this could have entreatment for hardcore gamers and casual gamers akin.
